I can now say I’ve seen Mount Fuji – we sped past it on the Shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo. Of course we bought a bento – a box lunch. This is a requirement for riding the shinkansen.
It was almost my favorite meal here, but the skewer I had at that traditional Japanese restaurant beats it. Still, it was pretty tasty. The Shinkansen is the Japanese bullet train. I rode the Hikari Shinkansen, and its top speed is 270 km/h! The really cool thing about the shinkansen is that you can’t tell how fast you’re going until another shinkansen speeds past it.
And then, there was Mount Fuji. Kristen was fast and captured it, kudos to her =).
